Obituary for Joseph Markowitz

Joseph  Markowitz
Joseph Markowitz, 85, departed this life on August 8, 2017. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Wasyl and Pazia (Turczyn) Markowitz.

Joe served our country for 20 years with the US Army and US Air Force. He had tours of duty in the Korean War and two tours in the Vietnam War. He received the Combat Infantry Badge, Air Crewmen Wing, Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. He was a Pennsylvania State Revenue Agent for 10 years and worked as a funeral assistant for Weber Funeral Homes for 22 years before retiring in 2008. If there was a book worthy of being read, Joe had read it.

Survivors: Sister, Anne Biery and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Private burial will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
