Eleanor Finnegan
Eleanor Finnegan, 93, of Whitehall, an extraordinary loving mother of two and wife, passed away on April 2nd, 2017. She was a member of America’s greatest generation, having supported the war effort at home while her new husband fought at Iwo Jima for the U.S. Marines during WWII. She was the wife of the late Edward Finnegan for 60 years until his passing in 2005. Born on May 5, 1923 in Palmer, MA, she was the daughter of the late John and Ora Moriarty.
She was the best mom two boys could ever have. She was the “neighborhood mother” with her house always filled with friends of her beloved sons. She loved to participate in family fishing, camping, and skiing vacations. She also enjoyed reading and traveling. Later in life, she went back to school and became a dental assistant. She, together with her family and her many friends, lived a long, very active, and full life.
